Areas of Support
Divorce & Separation
Divorce in a new country is doubly hard: an unfamiliar legal system, a foreign language, and often no one nearby who understands what you are going through. We help you understand your situation, find the right specialists and not face this process alone.
How We May Help
- First consultation with a paralegal — understand your situation and possible next steps.
- Referrals to family law attorneys, including those who work with our cases at reduced fees.
- First crisis consultation with a psychologist or coach; ongoing therapy referrals if needed.
- Help finding psychological / mental health evaluations for court at reduced fees.
- Volunteer accompaniment to court or important meetings, depending on location and availability.
The scope and format of help are determined individually and depend on the situation, the Foundation’s resources and program criteria.
